Maybelline Limited Edition Porcelain Lipstick Swatches
I was minding my own business, just wandering along, and there they were. Maybelline Limited Edition Porcelains stopped me in my tracks and I was instantly entranced by the muted ‘porcelain’ rubberized packaging and the heavenly range of creamy colors. Cremes are my finish of choice and I have a range that I usually shop in when looking at lipsticks that falls somewhere between pink and nude. Sure, I love a bold sexy red or the summery corals, but the pinks and nudes always have my heart. This collection starts with 6 delicate, to-die-for summer colors from a sugary pastel pink (#850 Porcelain Pink), to a subtle violet (#855 Flawless Fuchsia) and 2 soft, sexy nudes (#860 Smooth Taupe & #865 Nude Nuances), with a nudish mauvy pink called (#870 Afternoon Tea) and a deeper grape color (#875 Elegant Lilac) sitting on the darkest end of the collection.
My favorite so far is Afternoon Tea. It’s like my lips, only better. Pigmented, but slightly sheer with a beautiful cream sheen and a wam deep pink tone that suits…well, everything and would look fabulous on just about every lip. My least favorites are Porcelain Pink and Smooth Taupe. These are beautiful, but high maintenance. The formula is a bit more sheer and the milky colors tend to show any dryness. These colors would be best worn on a very hydrated and exfoliated lip and over a lip pencil base.
The texture of these cream lipsticks is moisturizing and silky smooth. The wear time is fair, not longer than 2 hours on me, but they are easy to apply on the go and you don’t need a mirror for most of the colors. My suggestion is to pick at least one of these up for your summer makeup collection. Available at drugstores. Go!
